‎Nigeria’s Khadijat Ajisola has been eliminated from the women’s 54kg boxing event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, following a narrow split-decision loss to Wales’ Helen Jones.

‎Ajisola produced a spirited performance in a closely fought contest but fell just short as Jones claimed a 3-2 victory on points to advance to the next round.

‎The bout was decided by the narrowest of margins, with two of the five judges scoring in favour of the Nigerian, highlighting how competitive the contest was.

‎Despite the defeat, Ajisola’s display demonstrated resilience and determination against a strong Welsh opponent, although it was not enough to keep her medal hopes alive at the Games.
