‎Nigeria’s Junior Female YellowGreens completed an unbeaten campaign in Tanzania to secure qualification for the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Saturday.

‎Daily NewsCraft reports that Nigeria recorded five victories against Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe in the tournament.

‎The team’s qualification was confirmed in a statement by the National Sports Commission (NSC).

‎The Junior YellowGreens secured the World Cup ticket, after defeating Zimbabwe by four runs in the final of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

‎The final, played at the TCA Cricket Arena, brought the week-long qualifier to a close, with Nigeria completing an unbeaten campaign.

‎With this victory, Nigeria have secured back-to-back appearances at the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, following their historic debut at the inaugural edition in 2025.

‎Meanwhile, the NSC has congratulated the players, coaches and officials for their outstanding performance and for flying the Nigerian flag with distinction.
