….Says Perpetrators are aimimg to destroy ongoing reforms, processes.
A coalition of foremost civil society organisations in Nigeria identified as League of Civil Society Group (LCSG), has condemned series of allegations, campaign of calumny heaped on the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr Adesola Olusade by shadow parties and faceless groups.
In a press release signed and made available to newsmen by the National Coordinator Ambassador Mohammed Basah on Saturday, LCSG, stated that during an independent investigation, it discovered clear instances of internal sabotage aimed at undermining the ongoing reforms for effective service delivery and institutionalization of transparent processes in the FCTA.
The statement read; “This is the presentation of an investigative report on the Federal Capital Territory Administration championed by the League of Civil Society Group (LCSG). LCSG is a vibrant alliance of 42 prominent civil organizations, each with a specialized focus on different thematic areas, all dedicated to advancing sustainable growth and development in Nigeria. The convergence is unified by a shared mission to unite as a formidable force for advocacy grounded in evidence, while also providing a cooperative platform to leverage our collective expertise and influence for the betterment of Nigerian society.
“Following a series of allegations of administrative and financial misappropriation made around the media in the past few weeks, LCSG commissioned a comprehensive investigative process to ascertain the veracity of the allegations. After thorough scrutiny, analysis, and interviews with staff of the establishment, our investigation has revealed instances of internal sabotage, collusion, and the propagation of baseless propaganda. First and foremost, we discovered clear instances of internal sabotage aimed at undermining the ongoing reforms for effective service delivery and institutionalization of transparent processes in the FCTA. These actions were orchestrated by individuals with vested interests, seeking to distract the leadership of the administration from providing the indigenes and residents of FCT with the desired development that is in tandem with the reality of a 21st-century federal capital.
“Furthermore, the investigative process brought to light a network of individuals engaged in a concerted effort to smear the reputation of the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr Adesola Olusade. These individuals are motivated by objectives that directly oppose the foundational principles of public service and accountability. The investigation revealed that this group collaborates to concoct fictitious narratives, which they then disseminate through various deceptive online channels, with the deliberate intent of damaging the reputation of the Permanent Secretary.
“Perhaps most alarmingly, our inquiry has brought to light substantial and credible evidence of blackmail attempts targeting the leadership of the FCTA. These schemes aimed to pressure the administration into compromising situations during the selection process for the acting Director of Human Resources of the FCTA. Despite these malicious endeavors, the leadership demonstrated unyielding integrity and an unwavering dedication to the principles of meritocracy.
“Based on the compelling and conclusive findings presented, the League of Civil Society Group (LCSG) offers its unwavering support and a vote of confidence in the incumbent Permanent Secretary. Throughout his tenure, he has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication, professionalism, and an indefatigable commitment to the betterment and advancement of the Federal Capital Territory. The LCSG firmly asserts that the allegations levied against him were misguided and ill-conceived, representing a regrettable effort to impede the exceptional work he has undertaken for the benefit of the FCT.
“It is clear from our investigation that the Permanent Secretary’s leadership has remained steadfast in the face of adversity, maintaining a focus on the welfare and progress of the FCT. The LCSG encourages continued collaboration and constructive engagement to address any concerns while acknowledging the critical role the Permanent Secretary plays in steering the FCT towards a more prosperous and transparent future.
“To those individuals involved in acts of internal sabotage, conspiracy, and blackmail within the FCTA, we strongly advise an immediate cessation of such actions. Engaging in these activities not only jeopardizes your personal and professional futures but also undermines the public trust in the organization and its leadership. We emphasize that the LCSG and other civil society organizations are closely monitoring such activities. Perpetrators caught engaging in these actions will face legal consequences, including potential criminal charges and public scrutiny that could severely impact their reputations.” It added.
