    Cattle rustler apprehended by police in Gombe; 21 cows successfully recovered

    Gombe State Police Command arrests suspected cattle rustler; 21 stolen cows recovered from Shuwari village in Funakaye Local Government Area.During the parade of the suspect, identified as Kabo, the Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, stated that the owner of the stolen cattle, Jauro Ahmadu, had reported the incident to the Bajoga Divisional Police office. Ahmadu reported the theft of his cattle, valued at N7 million, from his village.The PPRO said in order to arrest the suspect, police personnel immediately swung into action and launched an investigation that led to the arrest.

    He said the suspect has confessed to the crime and that all the stolen cows and other relevant exhibits have been recovered,The suspect will be charged in court as soon as the investigation is concluded, said the PRO.

    The police Division in Bajoga also arrested one Babangida Isah, 20, of Tike quarters in Bajoga town of Funakaye LGA, for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl (name withheld).

    ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar explained that the case was reported on June 6 to the police by the father of the victim and the suspect was immediately arrested and he voluntarily confessed to the crime.
