Eulogising the late community leader and educationist for her lifelong commitment to discipline, kindness and generosity and for the wide-ranging impact of these values on her children, students and members of her community, the President prayed God Almighty to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
In a related development, former governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency Ahmadu Adamu Muazu has led a delegation of Northern Intelligentsia to condole with the family of Ambassador Godknows Igali over the passing of his mother – Late Mrs. Fanny Igali. Other members of the delegation who arrived the bereaved’s residence in Abuja were Ambassador Abdulahi M. Bage, Ambassador Sani Saulawa Bala, Ambassador Ahmed Umar, and Alhaji Inuwa Baba.
In his words Muazu said “She was someone that was very close and dear to us. We can only pray for Mama about the services she has rendered, and the good and excellent work she has done for being a great mother. No wonder she bore a very fantastic son who has not only served Nigeria as a diplomat, but served so excellently. He’s still serving and has gone and touched grounds across everything that is worrying Nigeria today – Ethnicity, tribalism, religion, regionalism and all sorts of sentiments. I am delighted to know that he has same father with me in the late Emir of Lafia who has been a father to all of us. I must say that Mama’s life is one that was full of good memories, and we must thank and glorify the Almighty God today for her peaceful passing. We believe that she will live with the Almighty God, and that what she has done will live forever. We therefore pray that the Almighty God comforts all of us particularly her biological children and all that she has left behind on this planet.”
Continuing the former Governor of Bauchi State said “it is equally my prayer that the Almighty God will bless her service to mankind, bless the work that she has done selflessly. She will go to a very comfortable place, and we must say a big thank you to God for the life of Mama.
Let me also thank the doctors that have been with our elder statesman to receive us. I feel like being an academic doctor myself today. You guys have a worthy family head in the person of Ambassador Igali, and you have also shown an example of submission to his leadership. Thank you.
Responding on behalf of the family, Ambassador Igali appreciated the age-long fraternity he’s enjoyed with each member of the delegation, appreciating them for the show of love.
He concluded with a terse biography of his departed mother, and activities that characterises her last days on earth.
