Benue NDC condemns Ward Chairman’s murder, demands perpetrators’ arrest

    Published on

‎The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Benue State Chapter has condemned the gruesome murder of its Chairman for Fiidi Council Ward in Makurdi Local Government Area, Job Igbu.

    ‎

‎Igbu was reportedly attacked by suspected hoodlums who tied him with ropes, injected him with substances suspected to be poisonous and abandoned him near his residence around the NNPC depot along Makurdi-Otukpo road.

    ‎

‎Chairman of the party, Ohini Ojegbe in a statement yesterday said the victim was later found in an almost unconscious state and could not speak or communicate with anyone before he eventually died.

    ‎

‎Ojegbe’s condemnation statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Agile Ordedoo, described the killing as a “broad-daylight evil.

    ‎

‎He called on security agencies to urgently investigate the matter, apprehend those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.

    ‎

‎The NDC described the late Igbu as a committed and dedicated party member whose contributions to the growth of the party would be greatly missed, particularly at a time when his service was most needed.

    ‎

‎The party extended its condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Fiidi community and the entire NDC family in the state, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

    ‎

‎NDC in Benue further urged security agencies to beef up security in the area to prevent a recurrence.
