Ayo Makun, the well-known Nigerian comedian and actor, has finally addressed the recent barrage of criticism from musician Seun Kuti, the son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. Seun Kuti had previously expressed his disapproval of AY after the comedian’s house was destroyed because AY referred to his daughter as a “dog” in one of his comedy skits. Additionally, AY was accused of being a wife-beater and having bad breath by the Grammy-nominated Afrobeat artist.

In response to Seun Kuti’s accusations, AY shared a video in which he explained that the controversial skit in question was his response to trending issues. Specifically, it was about Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci, who had trended for eating dog meat with influencer Enioluwa. AY also vehemently denied being a wife-beater, stating that he has never personally met Seun Kuti. He even humorously questioned whether the singer had ever kissed him since he was accused of having bad breath.

AY expressed his strong belief that children should be off-limits in any form of criticism, as they are society’s most precious resource. He emphasized the importance of respecting children and their mothers, who serve as not only their caretakers but also as life partners cherished by all men.
