Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has been seen at a Galatasaray match amid mounting reports of talks over Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen’s prolific form in Turkey has kept him firmly on the radar of Europe’s elite, with long-running links to the Premier League gaining fresh momentum.
Arsenal are understood to be seeking sharper finishing despite strong domestic and European campaigns, and Berta is reported to have travelled to Turkey for discussions with Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek.
The reported meeting sparked widespread attention after Turkish journalist Serkan Korkmaz made a bold claim on 𝕏, saying: “Arsenal’s target is Osimhen!
“The Arsenal sporting director and Özbek met last night [Sunday]. Any other claims about what was discussed in their private meeting are not true.”
Arsenal supporters are likely to be encouraged by the developments, as the club’s attacking output has often been criticised this season. New arrival Viktor Gyökeres, who joined from Sporting Lisbon last summer, has struggled to deliver consistently at the Emirates Stadium, fuelling talk of a move for a proven finisher.
Osimhen further boosted his growing reputation with a standout display in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Fenerbahçe in the Intercontinental Derby, a fixture reportedly watched by scouts from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
The Nigerian opened the scoring just before half-time, reacting quickest to finish from close range as his side tightened their grip on the Turkish Super Lig summit.
He now has 13 goals and four assists in 20 league appearances this season, building on last year’s remarkable return of 37 goals in 41 matches.
