The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has directed aspirants seeking the party’s nomination for National Assembly and Anambra State House of Assembly seats to appear for screening with the original copies of their highest academic qualifications ahead of the 2026 primary elections.
The party said photocopies would not be accepted, stressing that all aspirants must personally present their credentials for verification by the screening committee.
This was contained in a public notice issued by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja and signed via the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Ejimofor Opara.
According to the notice dated May 9, 2026, the screening exercise for aspirants contesting Senate and House of Representatives seats will hold on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja by 10 a.m.
APGA also announced that aspirants for the Anambra State House of Assembly would be screened on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the party’s Regional Office in Awka, Anambra State, beginning at 10 a.m.
The party warned that only members of the screening committee and cleared aspirants would be allowed into the venues, directing supporters, aides and associates to stay away to ensure orderliness during the exercise.
APGA further stated that the screening exercise would be conducted free of charge and cautioned aspirants against paying money to any individual or committee under any guise.
“Any demand for payment should be reported immediately to the National Secretariat,” the statement said.
The party added that screening arrangements for aspirants from states outside Anambra would be announced later through official party channels.
