The All Progressives Congress, APC, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for the completion and commissioning of major judicial infrastructure projects in Abuja.
In a statement issued Thursday by National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party praised the delivery of the new Court of Appeal Complex with modern facilities, and 20-unit residential quarters for Justices of the Court of Appeal and Judges of the Federal High Court.
The APC also noted the upcoming commissioning of another 20-unit residential quarters for Judges of the FCT High Court.
It further welcomed the groundbreaking for residential quarters for Judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria and members of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, with completion scheduled for January 2027.
According to the party, the projects reflect the Tinubu administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law, and safeguarding judicial independence and welfare.
“The delivery of these critical and massive judicial infrastructure projects reflects President Tinubu’s iron-clad commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law, upholding the independence of the judiciary, and guaranteeing the dignity and welfare of judicial officers,” the statement said.
The APC described the modern court facilities and improved accommodation for judicial officers as a “strategic investment in justice delivery and democratic governance”.
It added that better working and living conditions for judges would enhance judicial efficiency and strengthen public confidence in Nigeria’s justice system.
The party also commended Wike for what it called his “unalloyed commitment, leadership, effective and timely execution” of the projects, saying they align with President Tinubu’s agenda on institutional reforms, infrastructure development and national progress.
It said the boost to judicial infrastructure, coming as the Tinubu administration marks its third anniversary, shows the government’s focus on strengthening Nigeria’s democratic culture and justice system.
