The leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced the indefinite suspension of actor Jerry Williams following his involvement in illicit substances.
In a statement signed by the National President of AGN, Mr. Emeka Rollas, MON, it was revealed that the guild had been monitoring Jerry’s participation in illicit substances since December of the previous year. The situation escalated to a point where he can no longer be allowed to associate with fellow performers on set due to the potential endangerment of their lives.
According to Mr. Rollas, the decision to suspend Jerry Williams was made in the interest of safety for his fellow actors. The statement reads, “The Guild has been monitoring his involvement in illicit substances since December last year, until it got out of hand. As it stands now, he cannot be allowed to associate with other performers on set due to danger.”
The AGN had previously given Jerry an opportunity to seek minor treatments, but he failed to comply consistently. Given the current circumstances, the guild has made the decision to suspend him indefinitely. Jerry will only be reinstated when he receives a clean bill of health from a medical practitioner or a professional specializing in drug abuse.
Jerry Williams gained prominence after his role in the epic movie “The Chosen King.” He is known for his versatile performances, portraying characters such as princes, kings, warriors, palace guards, hunters, romantic figures, terrorists, and many others in his previous films.
