Atletico Madrid forward, Ademola Lookman, on Sunday made history after scoring on his LaLiga Madrid derby debut against Real Madrid.
The Nigerian international became the 8th Atletico player in the 21st century to score in his first derby appearance, and the first since Luciano Vietto in October 2015 (a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu).
The former Atalanta star also became the first Nigerian ever to score in the Madrid derby.
Lookman opened the scoring for Atlético Madrid against Real Madrid.
His goal came in the 33rd minute after a brilliant attacking move, as he drove into the box and calmly finished following a clever backheel assist from Giuliano Simeone.
The goal gave Diego Simeone’s side a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Real Madrid responded with three goals in the second half.
A brace from Vinicius Junior and a goal from Federico Valverde ensured the Los Blancos defeated their LaLiga rivals at home.
Nahuel Molina scored a stunning long-range effort to level the score before Vinicius gave the hosts the lead in the 72nd minute.
