Milan Skriniar’s departure from Inter Milan has been confirmed as he prepares to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as a free agent. The Serie A club officially announced his departure on Friday.

After six seasons filled with victories and accomplishments, Skriniar’s journey with Inter Milan comes to an end, as stated in a brief statement by the club.

Skriniar’s contract with Inter expired on Friday, allowing him to make a move to the French champions, PSG.

During his time with Inter, the 28-year-old Slovakian captain won the 2021 Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and two Italian Super Cups. Inter also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League earlier this month, although they ended up as runners-up.

Skriniar has been sidelined since March due to injury and underwent spinal surgery in the following month. Consequently, he missed the exciting conclusion to the season, including the victory over city rivals AC Milan in the Champions League semi-final.

Tensions between Skriniar and the club had been mounting since the beginning of the year. Inter was unsuccessful in selling him to PSG during the January transfer window, and in February, they stripped him of the captaincy after he refused to renew his contract.
