Negotiations for a rematch between former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and his rival Dillian Whyte have progressed, with Whyte receiving the fight contract from Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.

The long-standing feud between the two fighters has been a subject of speculation, but Whyte recently voiced his frustration, claiming that the other side wasn’t serious about making the rematch happen. He described the offer as a simple email and stated that his inquiries were ignored.

In response, Whyte announced that he would accept the terms as they were. Eddie Hearn, in turn, acknowledged that the initial numbers had been rejected but assured that he would send a contract.

However, Hearn expressed doubts about the rematch being finalized, stating that he didn’t expect it to happen. He mentioned that the contract was sent on Saturday morning and would be reviewed by Whyte’s team. If they decide to accept the offer, the fight can proceed without difficulties.

Hearn also mentioned that Agit Kabayel, along with two other heavyweight fighters, is being considered as an alternative opponent for Joshua if Whyte chooses not to accept the offer.

With a scheduled date of August 12 at London’s O2 Arena, an official announcement is expected soon to confirm the details of the rematch.
