EFCC Issues Warning to Skitmakers and Movie Producers Regarding Unauthorized Use of Jackets and Symbols

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warning to content creators, movie producers, and skitmakers who utilize EFCC-branded jackets, symbols, insignia, and other items without proper authorization.

The Commission wants to inform the public that the use of EFCC branding in movies without authorization is illegal.

While the Commission acknowledges the interest of some individuals in the creative industry to produce movies and skits centered around economic and financial crimes, it is essential for such individuals to seek the Commission’s authorization. This includes having their scenes, which depict the operations of the Commission, vetted to ensure that false or misleading messages are not conveyed to the public.

The Public Affairs Department of the Commission is well-equipped to collaborate with motion picture practitioners who are interested in partnering with the EFCC to create films and skits that educate the public, particularly the youth, about the risks associated with economic and financial crimes.

Anyone found in violation of this advisory will be treated as an impersonator and dealt with accordingly.
