‎The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday, vowed that Senator Ireti Kingibe would not be allowed to be re-elected back to the National Assembly in 2027.

‎Wike stated this while inspecting some ongoing projects in N1 – Wuye to Mbora, Tugan Madaki to Zuba and Kagini – off Old Keffi Roads in Abuja.

‎Wike, who was replying to Kingibe, for accusing him of taking loans without the approval of the National Assembly, said it is not possible as a Minister of FCT to take a loan without the approval of the National Assembly.

‎Wike explained that as a statutory law requires, you must include all loans in the budget for the approval of the National Assembly.

‎

‎He added that he was expecting her to criticise him for not doing anything in Abuja, but said that the development in Abuja is obvious.

‎According to Wike, “She’s an illiterate, with all due respect, and that’s why she’s not going back to Senate. She has nothing to offer. There’s no way you can go and take a loan without the approval of the National Assembly. Anyone, take a loan, you will include it in the budget.

‎”​I don’t want to comment about her. Her bags are already parked from the Senate. The people have made their choice by agreeing to support President Tinubu, and then will support, Philip Aduda for Senate.

‎”So, let us not waste our time reacting to, to inferiors who have failed.

‎

‎”I thought she would criticise that I’m doing nothing. So, if my problem is that I took a loan, if I took a loan, I’m using it to work. Her concern should have been: Are we applying the loan to work for the interest of residents?”
