‎Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have recovered the body of a man identified as Joseph Dachung in a bush near Fwil village in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

‎This was contained in a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Sector 6 and made available to journalists in Jos.

‎

‎According to the statement, the body was discovered at about 7:30 a.m. on September 12, 2026, during a search operation launched following an incident of cattle rustling in the area.

‎

‎Preliminary investigations revealed that Dachung had been reported missing by members of the community on September 9, which raised concerns about his whereabouts.

‎

‎The troops recovered the body from the bush and handed it over to the community for further necessary action.

‎

‎The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. However, security personnel say they have intensified offensive operations in the general area to track criminal elements and prevent further incidents.

‎

‎The discovery comes amid heightened security operations across parts of Plateau State, where troops have intensified patrols and searches following recent attacks and other criminal activities.
