The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has said it is set for a “100 per cent electoral victory” in the 2027 general elections.
State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, who declared this on Sunday, also dismissed concerns over internal crisis, saying the aggrieved group known as G15 has now shrunk to G6.
Fagbemi said the APC remains united and capable of resolving its differences ahead of 2027.
“We are one family within the APC. They say there are disagreements. Disagreements are common within families, whether small or large. That does not mean there is a division,” he stated.
According to him, the party has activated reconciliation mechanisms after the governorship primary. A committee has submitted its report, while a smaller committee is reviewing it.
He criticized members taking grievances to the press, saying: “Anyone has a right to be aggrieved. What I am quarrelling with is the process by which they are pursuing their grievances. That is exposing the party to ridicule.”
Reacting to The Otoge Progressives, OTP, formerly G15, Fagbemi said the group no longer poses any threat.
“I am not talking about any G-anything, because even the so-called G15 is now about G6 or so. So, what are we talking about? G15 is now about G6,” he said.
The chairman hinged APC’s confidence on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s performance in infrastructure, education, healthcare, employment of teachers, and prompt payment of salaries and pensions.
“With all sense of responsibility and honesty, and to the glory of Almighty God, we are returning with a 100 per cent electoral victory in 2027,” Fagbemi declared.
He also defended the emergence of Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu as the governorship candidate, saying the choice of Kwara North was based on fairness and equity.
Fagbemi urged members to accept party decisions and avoid defection threats.
“I don’t believe anyone will defect. Get to the bridge before you cross the river. I don’t act on assumptions,” he said.
He noted that several 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidates have since joined APC, adding that the ruling party remains stronger in the state.
“What we are enjoining them to do is to remain steadfast. Let them not be distracted by the noise around them,” he added.
