‎Troops of Operation ‘HADIN KAI’ apprehended three suspected ISWAP terrorists, recovered weapons and rescued a Cameroonian national allegedly abducted by terrorists in Borno State.
‎According to a military report on Tuesday, the operation occurred within the last 24 hours.
‎The military said troops of 151 Task Force Battalion rescued the Cameroonian at about 2:15 p.m. on Monday.
‎It said the victim was allegedly abducted by terrorists at Ashigashiya village, located between Gwoza in Borno and Cameroon.
‎According to the report, the rescued victim was taken into military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
‎“In Adamawa, troops of 232 Battalion, deployed at Garaha in Hong Local Government Area, arrested two suspected ISWAP members on August 16. The troops, operating alongside local hunters, subsequently arrested another suspected associate of the terrorists while the suspect was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound.
‎“Troops recovered a mobile phone, SIM card, two bows and arrows, one locally made sword and four locally fabricated guns. The suspects and recovered items were subsequently kept in military custody for further action,” it said.

‎The military said the troops of 151 Task Force Battalion, in another operation, discovered an abandoned AK-47 rifle buried in the ground at Ngurusoye village in Bama council area.
‎It said the weapon was recovered during a routine farm patrol and handed over to the relevant military authorities.
‎According to the report, the latest operations came amid sustained efforts by the military to disrupt terrorist networks, logistics and freedom of movement across the North East.
‎The military said it continued to combine offensive operations with intelligence-led patrols and collaboration with local security actors to deny terrorists access to communities.
‎It added that the recovery of weapons and arrest of suspected operatives are expected to support ongoing investigations into terrorist activities and their support networks in the region.
‎The military also urged communities to continue providing credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations against terrorism and other criminal activities.
