    NIS seeks continuous learning, collaboration in advancing sports development

    ‎‎The South South Zonal Coordinator of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Dr Rasheed Oyakhire, alongside members of the South South Zonal Office staff, are currently participating in the ongoing IOC/NOC Medical Commission Seminar holding in Benin City, Edo State.

    ‎The seminar, organised to enhance knowledge and capacity in sports medicine, athlete health management, and modern medical practices in sports, brought together stakeholders from various sectors of the sports industry.

    ‎The programme serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas, professional development, and the promotion of best practices in sports healthcare.

    ‎Speaking on the significance of the seminar, Oyakhire emphasised the importance of continuous learning and collaboration in advancing sports development in Nigeria.

    ‎He noted that sports medicine plays a critical role in athlete performance, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall well-being.

    ‎The participation of the National Institute for Sports South South Zonal Office serves as the Institute’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote excellence in sports education, research, administration, and athlete development. The seminar also provided participants with valuable insights into emerging trends and global standards in sports medicine and healthcare delivery.

    ‎Members of the South South Zonal Office expressed appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the seminar, describing it as a valuable learning experience that will contribute to strengthening sports development efforts within the region.

    ‎The National Institute for Sports remains dedicated to building capacity among sports professionals and fostering partnerships that will enhance the growth and sustainability of sports in Nigeria.
