‎Women’s top seed, Mohammed Khadijat, proved that her rating was no fluke, with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory over wild card entrant, Agunbiade Toluwalose, in the ongoing 47th Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship, to book her place in the quarter-finals.

‎Mohammed will face Godwin Favour in the quarter-finals.

‎Also through to the last eight is Udofia Mary, who defeated Otu Blessing 6-1, 6-2, while Ogunjobi Success beat Samuel Gloria 6-0, 6-3 in their second-round clash to set up a quarter-final meeting with Udofia.

‎Omotayo Blessing, who overcame Bamidele Abosede 6-2, 6-2 in the second round, will take on second seed Emmanuel-Essien Bright for a place in the semi-finals.

‎Bassey Etoro will face Suwa Nenrot, who cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Olaniyan Abosede.

‎In the men’s singles, top seed Abua Canice defeated Sani Musa 6-4, 6-3 to book a quarter-final clash against Mohammed Dahiru, who beat Chinedu Sunday 6-1, 6-2.

‎Michael Chima, who defeated Sani Yahaya 6-2, 6-2, will take on wild card entrant Edward David, who progressed from the qualifying rounds into the main draw.

‎Men’s singles second seed, who had earlier brushed aside Ogunjiofor Onyekachi 6-1, 6-1, was still in action against another wild card entrant, Muhammed Amir, at the time of filing this report.
