‎COAS Spikers Men’s Volleyball Club defeated Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps 3-0 in the ongoing 2026 National Premier Volleyball League in Abuja.

‎The army side won the match 26-24, 25-19, and 25-15 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

‎The victory was the COAS Spikers’ third consecutive win of the competition.

‎COAS Spikers had opened their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Kano Pillars, winning 25-17, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17, before recording a 3-0 win against Offa Volleyball Club with scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-20.

‎Speaking after the match, the team’s assistant coach, Segun Abinde, expressed satisfaction with his side’s performance.

‎“We expected a very tough contest against NSCDC, but the players delivered an outstanding performance. I am very happy with the result because we have been looking forward to this match for a long time. We thank God for the victory and appreciate our fans and the management of COAS for their continuous support and encouragement,” he said.

‎Abinde attributed the team’s impressive run to the cordial relationship between the coaching crew and the players.

‎“We are fortunate to have these players; they respect us, and we respect them in return. That mutual understanding is reflected in our performances on the court,” he said.

‎In another match, Nigeria Customs Service defeated Defence Spikers 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-19) to secure their third win of the tournament.

‎Customs coach, Adamu Jonah, said the victory was the result of adequate preparation and management support.

‎“We approach every match one step at a time. This victory is a result of proper preparation and the support we receive from management,” he said.

‎Also, the Nigeria Police Volleyball Club defeated the Ajase Ipo Volleyball Club 3-1. The police side won the sets 25-19, 25-22 and 25-23, while Ajase Ipo claimed the fourth set 27-25.

‎Police coach, Taiwo Oladipupo, said his team remained focused and was taking it one match at a time.

‎“This is a league competition, and every team deserves respect. We have won two matches and lost one, and we remain optimistic about our chances,” he said.
