    Sets for judicial digital switch over in Kebbi

    Kebbi state chairman of Nigeria bar association, barrister Aminu Hassan has rejected allegations by members of the public seeking justice at various courts in Kebbi state and Nigeria that there is corruption in the Nigeria’s judiciary.

    Hassan who spoke on the sidelines during the symbolic flagg off of equity bar law week in Birnin Kebbi said that people seeking justice particularly those who wants justice in their favour despite overwhelming evidences of wrong doings and/or offences makes frantic efforts to buy judgement from judges which has always been rejected by uncompromising justices and magistrates.

    He warned justice seekers to refuse any judge who demands bribe to compromise justice saying the law is clear on giving and taking of bribe from both parties.

    We have always discourage giving and taking bribe, and are people walking freely because courts exist otherwise there will be rancour everywhere, we also believe courts remains the last hope of a common man ”

    On delay on the administration of justice and delivery of judgements which used to drag for many years he said judicial reforms in Kebbi state has reduced it to at least fifty percent as even high profile cases are now decided in very little time.

    While describing efforts by Kebbi state government to digitilise the judiciary as welcome development he urged lawyers and justices to use the opportunity to fastrack quick and impartial dispensation of justice as the intends to catch up with global digital trend.

    The bar chairman urged members of the bar to use the week to arm themselves with modern professional skills even as he described judiciary under of governor Idris as friendly to the noble profession.

    Equity bar law week was attended by governor Nasir Idris, attorney general of Kebbi state and top legal luminaries from far and near.
