The affirmation was carried out during the party’s primary election and candidates’ endorsement exercise held in Jalingo for governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly positions.

Addressing party members at the event, APGA National Vice Chairman for the North-East, Aminu Hamanjoda Furo described the exercise as peaceful and successful, commending party members, youths, women and security agencies for maintaining order throughout the process.

“Everything went peacefully and successfully. I want to specially appreciate the security operatives, women, youths and all party faithful who contributed to the success of this exercise,” he said.

Furo stated that the exercise was aimed at affirming aspirants contesting various elective positions under the platform of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He listed some of the affirmed candidates to include Salihu Ibrahim for Jalingo I State Constituency, Cyprian David Kamai for Jalingo II, Hon. Patrick Umar for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal House of Representatives, and Alhaji Ali Sani Kona for Taraba North Senatorial District.

In his remarks, Danjuma Umaru Shiddi thanked party supporters for the confidence reposed in him, describing the endorsement as a demonstration of the people’s trust in his leadership.

He promised to tackle unemployment, poor infrastructure, educational decline and economic hardship in the state if elected governor.

“Our educational system is in a bad condition and many of our youths are unemployed. We are determined to provide responsible leadership and deliver good governance to the people,” he said.

Shiddi also called on residents of the state to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that the ballot remained the most effective tool for democratic change.

    • He further expressed confidence that APGA would emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election in the state.
