The Plateau State winner for the seat of Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency Election,of the African Democratic Congress,(ADC) Hon.
Mangut Mallann Peter has disclosed that there is need to tackle the problem of insecurity in Plateau central and North ,if given the mandate come 2027 , he going work with Local security outfit .
He declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat in 2027, making insecurity and rotational representation central to the campaign slogan.
Peter said insecurity remains the most pressing challenge facing Bokkos and Mangu ,as pledged that if elected, he would work directly with community vigilantes and residents to address the issue.
Peter also framed his candidacy around what he called a need for fairness in power sharing within the constituency. He argued that it is “Bokkos’ turn” to produce the House member, noting that Mangu has held the seat for the past four years.
On party politics, the ADC flag bearer said he was not intimidated by the All Progressives Congress, stating, “we made APC, we know how to bring them up and down.” He added that the current occupant of the seat, Hon. Lalu, is his friend but should expect a competitive race now that he has emerged as the ADC candidate.
Peter pointed to the broader political balance in Plateau State, saying the Mwalgwul Axis already holds the governorship, senatorial, and House seats. He argued that the Pyem Axis and Bokkos deserve representation to correct the imbalance.
He urged residents across Bokkos, Pyem Axis, and Mwalgwul Axis to take note of the situation and called for increased voter registration and turnout in 2027 so people can “vote their conscience.”
The tone of the address was direct and local, focusing on zonal equity rather than party ideology.
He emphasized the current officeholders in Plateau’s Mwagwul land where Bokkos aand Pyem nation are relegated for you, or adapt this into a version for print versus social media?
