The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has called on Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, unity and national renewal as Muslims celebrate Eid El Kabir festival
This was even as the Ogun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 elections, Senator Solomon Adeola, has urged Muslim faithful to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peace and the consolidation of gains recorded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio felicitated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Muslim faithful worldwide.
Akpabio said the festival reminds believers of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith, obedience and willingness to sacrifice for Almighty Allah.
He noted that the virtues of devotion, selflessness and submission to divine will are values Nigeria needs at this time.
“These timeless virtues of devotion, selflessness, and submission to divine will are values our nation desperately needs today,” Akpabio stated.
He extended greetings to the President, Vice President and Muslims across the country on behalf of his family, constituents and the Senate.
“May the lessons of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity that define this season strengthen your faith and bring peace to your homes,” he said
Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, made the call in his Eid message to Nigerian Muslims.
In the message signed by his media advisor, Kayode Odunaro, the governorship candidate said Muslims in Ogun West and across Nigeria should reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, brotherliness, piety and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that strict adherence to Islamic teachings will help Nigeria consolidate the “observable gains” of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
