    Kaduna:  Abbas, others emerge  APC candidates

    The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the results of its House of Representatives primary elections conducted across Kaduna State, with several prominent party members emerging victorious in contests monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
    Leading the list of winners is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who secured 930 votes to clinch the APC ticket for the Zaria Federal Constituency.
    In the Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Amos Gwamna emerged victorious with a landslide of 1,930 votes, while Architect Hamza Ibrahim won the Soba Federal Constituency primary after polling 1,030 votes.
    The Kaduna North Federal Constituency witnessed one of the most competitive contests as Hon. Samaila Abdulsuleiman secured a resounding victory with 3,049 votes. His challengers, Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka and Abubakar Mahmud, polled 65 and 96 votes respectively.
    For the Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency, Mukthar Shehu Ladan emerged through a consensus arrangement backed by party stakeholders, recording 1,480 votes.
    Ahmad Muhammad Munir also clinched the APC ticket for the Lere Federal Constituency after securing 1,120 votes.
    In Kaura Local Government Area, Prof. Benjamin Gugong defeated Hon. Mathew Donatus by polling 1,085 votes against his opponent’s 255 votes.
    Similarly, Mukthar Zakari Chawai emerged winner for the Kauru Federal Constituency with 1,750 votes, while Fidelix Joseph Bagudu secured victory in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency after polling 1,580 votes.
    Daniel Amos won the Jama’a/Sanga Federal Constituency primary with 2,110 votes, while Gabriel Saleh emerged victorious in the Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency with an impressive 2,590 votes.
    In another closely watched contest, Abubakar Shehu Giwa clinched the APC ticket for the Birnin Gwari/Giwa Federal Constituency after polling 2,669 votes. Hussaini Muhammad Jalo also emerged victorious in the Igabi Federal Constituency with 1,171 votes.
    For the Kaduna South Federal Constituency, Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed secured the party’s ticket with 1,130 votes, while Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi emerged winner for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency after polling 920 votes.
    Bashir Suleiman Zuntu rounded off the list of winners after clinching victory in the Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency with 1,787 votes.
    Party officials and stakeholders described the primaries as peaceful, transparent, and credible, noting that the successful conduct of the exercise demonstrates the APC’s readiness ahead of the forthcoming general elections in Kaduna State.
