EPL: Taiwo Awoniyi Sets Record in Nottingham Forest’s 3–1 Win Over Chelsea

    Published on

Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, created a record on Monday following his side’s Premier League 3-1 win against Chelsea on Monday.

The Nigerian international netted a brace against the Blues at Stamford Bridge to give his team all three points.

His teammate, Igor Jesus, also scored for the visitors against the hosts during the encounter.

However, Awoniyi’s early first strike in less than 2 minutes, is reported as one of the fastest Premier League away goals scored against Chelsea in recent seasons.

It also remains the quickest goal since December 2013, when Jay Rodriguez scored for Southampton after 13 seconds.

Awoniyi will now hope to lead Nottingham to victory when they clash with Aston Villa in the Europa League semi-final return leg on Thursday.
