To mark World Health Day, the Julebrama Women and Children Initiative (JUWACI) conducted a community health outreach in Karamajigi, Abuja, delivering vital healthcare services to underserved residents.

The event, held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, centered on raising health awareness and expanding access to essential services in line with the global theme, “Together for Health, Stand With Science.”

In collaboration with the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, Ambulance Academy, Kome Igho Foundation, Allan and Chris Care Foundation, Swift Medics Healthcare, and Child Embrace Foundation, the outreach provided a range of impactful health interventions.

During the exercise, 46 individuals willingly underwent HIV testing, contributing to efforts aimed at increasing awareness and encouraging early detection. Participants were also offered professional counselling and linked to referral services for follow-up care where needed.

The programme included engaging health education sessions, with particular emphasis on mental health, as well as the prevention and management of infectious diseases such as HIV and hepatitis. Residents actively participated, asking questions and gaining useful insights to improve their health.

Community leaders and residents of Karamajiji expressed gratitude to JUWACI and its partners for bringing much-needed healthcare services closer to them, describing the outreach as timely and transformative.

Representatives of JUWACI, in their remarks, reiterated that health is a basic human right and reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to strengthening communities through grassroots health initiatives.

The outreach underscores JUWACI’s continued commitment to equipping communities with the knowledge, access, and support needed to promote wellbeing, dignity, and sustainable development.
