The Benue State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Elias Adukwu, has declared that the party is determined to take over power in the 2027 presidential election, regardless of challenges.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) House in Makurdi, Adukwu expressed confidence that nothing would stop the party’s coalition from producing the next president.

He stated that all necessary arrangements had been concluded for the party to emerge victorious in the 2027 polls, adding that the ADC remains focused and undeterred in its mission.

The ADC chieftain also dismissed reports of recent suspensions within the party, describing them as unfounded and unnecessary. He noted that the matter is already before the court and should be allowed to follow due legal process.

Adukwu further spoke on the party’s internal leadership history, alleging that its founder, Ralph Okey Nwosu, remained in office as National Chairman for an extended period, which, according to him, limited opportunities for leadership transition.

He explained that aggrieved members sought legal redress, leading to a court judgment that ended the prolonged tenure and paved the way for fresh leadership through a new election.

According to him, the development marked a turning point for the party, reinforcing its commitment to internal democracy and inclusiveness.

Adukwu urged Nigerians to join the ADC, describing it as a credible platform capable of addressing the country’s challenges and improving the welfare of citizens.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Benue State Council, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, commended journalists for their role in promoting democratic values and assured that the media would continue to disseminate accurate information to the public.
