Cape Verde pulls out of Super Falcons friendly

    Published on

Cape Verde have pulled out of the scheduled international friendly matches against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The two matches were scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 and Saturday, April 18 at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

According to reports, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is scrambling for a new opponent for the Super Falcons.

The short notice could however scuttle NFF’s chances of getting a late replacement.

The Super Falcons are expected to converge in Abuja this weekend for the friendlies which will serve as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July.

Justine Madugu’s side played the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon twice in the last international window for women.
