Two persons have been confirmed dead while 10 others sustained injuries in a lone crash along Gombe-Yola road.
The state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samson Kaura, confirmed this on Saturday in Gombe.

Kaura said the crash, which occurred on Friday around 7:40pm at Gona community axis of the road, was caused by a tyre burst.
He said 10 persons sustained various degrees of injuries, ranging from in the head, bruises and cuts in the body.

According to him, those injured were taken to Federal Teaching Hospital at Ashaka Road in Gomber for proper medical attention.
He said the remains of the deceased were taken to the mortuary of the same hospital where the injured persons were being treated.

Kaura advised drivers to resist the temptation of overloading and speeding, urging them to always prioritise their safety over profit or speed.
“Preliminary investigation showed that the cause of the crash was a tyre burst which may be as a result of dangerous driving, overloading or speed.
“Motorists must prioritise their safety over speed because their families are waiting for them like the passengers,” he said.
