The Executive Chairman of Takum Local Government Council, Hon. Bako Benjamin, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Betty Enekpe Isokpan Otimenyin, PSC, MNIPS, to strengthen security collaboration and address emerging security challenges in Takum and its environs.
During the meeting, Hon. Bako commended the Commissioner for her leadership and professionalism, noting that her proactive policing strategies and swift responses to security issues have helped improve the safety of lives and property across the state.
Discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation between the local government, the police, and community leaders through intelligence sharing and vigilance to further improve law and order in Takum.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing Takum and surrounding communities, noting that the relative peace recorded in the area has encouraged infrastructural development. He cited ongoing projects such as the development of the International Cattle Market and the refurbishment of the Takum Council Secretariat, among other initiatives supported by the TY Danjuma Foundation.
Hon. Bako expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception and pledged continued collaboration with security agencies to sustain peace and development in the area. He also prayed for God’s guidance and strength for CP Otimenyin as she continues to serve the state and the nation with dedication and integrity.
