    Published on

The Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  Mr Ola Olukoyede has cautioned youths across the country to steer clear of social vices and other acts of corruption in order to take their place as  future builders of the nation.

He made this call on Friday,  February 20, 2026 at the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, when a delegation of Youth Anti-Corruption Society  paid a courtesy visit to the Directorate.  Olukoyede  tasked the youths to always follow the right path stressing that the cost of corruption outweighs the apparent benefits derivable from social vices

He  also urged the youths to be good ambassadors and foot soldiers against corruption, internet fraud and other related crimes.

Olukoyede, who spoke through the Acting Director,  Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the EFCC,  Assistant Commander of the EFCC,  ACE1 Hassan Saidu,  assured the youths that the nation was relying on them to drive more positive changes through attitudinal redirection and   “that’s why the Commission is trying its best to catch up with youths as you are the leaders of tomorrow”.

He further stressed that, “to make the society a better place for our survival we must prevent the leakages in our environment, the youths are the movers of the nation.   The government and the Commission are doing their best to develop the nation and to empower the youths for the good of the society”.

Explaining the rationale of the visit,  leader of the delegation,  Comrade Sampson Abibo,  thanked the Commission for the warm welcome and the opportunity granted to express their feelings as a  youth’s  anti-corruption body and further maintained that they came to seek continuous collaboration with the Commission in order to strengthen the fight against corruption.

“We are members of the youth anti-corruption society organization.  We have been partnering with the Commission for the past five years in Rivers State and have  launched a project called “Student Anti-corruption Initiative of Nigeria” a campaign against social vices, drug abuse and theft  in both secondary and primary schools.  Abibo added that his organization was ready to partner with the EFCC to tackle “internet fraud, cyber bullying, hacking and unhealthy things that affect the society”.
