Serie A: Palladino says Lookman asked to leave Atalanta

    Published on

Atalanta head coach, Raffaele Palladino has revealed that Ademola Lookman requested to leave the club.

La Dea sold Lookman to Spanish club Atletico Madrid for €40m this week.

Atalanta were reportedly keen to hold on to the Nigeria international until the end of the season.

The Bergamo club however decided to sell the winger after Atletico Madrid made a suitable offer.

They rejected overtures from Inter Milan last summer which forced Lookman to submit a transfer request, and went on AWOL.

There were, however, no issues this time around as Atalanta were willing to make their talisman happy.

“Lookman had this offer towards the end of the transfer session, he asked to leave and wanted a change of scenery, so the club made him happy,” Palladino told Sport Mediaset.
