The Kogi State PDP Chairman, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has hailed the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan that affirmed the leadership of the Caretaker Committee, led by Abdulrahman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The Federal High Court nullified the National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held on November 15, 2025.
Justice Uche Agomoh who presided over the court voided the exercise held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, citing procedural irregularities.
Consequently, the court issued a restraining order barring Mr. Turaki and other members elected at the convention from parading themselves as national officers of the party.
In a move to prevent a leadership vacuum, Justice Agomoh ruled that the Caretaker Committee, led by Abdulrahman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, remains the only legally recognized National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP.
Reacting to the judgement in an interview in Lokoja on Friday, Gambo noted that “The judgement is timely, it will help reposition and focus the party from litigation.”
The PDP Chairman praised the Caretaker National Chairman for his outstanding qualities since assumption of office . He described the Abdulrahman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu led leadership as one that will reposition the PDP for 2027.
He described the judgement as a no victor, no vanquished judgement, adding that it is in the interest of the PDP. He also congratulated the Caretaker Chairman on the judgement, explaining that it will enable him settle down for business.
