The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced a fresh round of disbursements for the 2025/2026 academic session, with funds released to ten tertiary institutions across the country to support students under the Federal Government’s student loan scheme.

The latest tranche covers universities, colleges of education, and agricultural institutions, easing tuition burdens for thousands of beneficiaries nationwide.

The institutions and amounts disbursed are as follows:

• University of Benin – ₦230,599,250 for 2,673 students

• Olabisi Onabanjo University – ₦1,197,495,000 for 5,613 students

• Kashim Ibrahim University – ₦69,912,300 for 1,322 students

• Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya – ₦31,335,500 for 479 students

• Nnamdi Azikiwe University – ₦85,012,500 for 850 students

• Lagos State University of Science and Technology – ₦223,144,000 for 2,766 students

• Federal College of Education, Katsina – ₦4,279,800 for 60 students

• Division of Agricultural Colleges, ABU Zaria – ₦2,422,650 for 62 students

• College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia – ₦9,044,000 for 145 students

• Delta State University, Abraka – ₦392,876,550 for 1,854 students

In total, 14,804 undergraduates and student-teachers are benefiting from this disbursement, enabling them to continue their studies this semester without the burden of tuition fees.

NELFUND said the development underscores its commitment to expanding access to higher education, promoting equity, and ensuring that no eligible Nigerian student is denied education due to financial constraints.
