Women leaders of the Labour Party (LP) have rejected the recent judgment of the Federal High Court delivered against the Julius Abure-led faction.

The national women leader, deputy national women leader (south-south) and state women leaders reached the decision at a virtual meeting held on January 22, 2026.

The meeting, which was the first for the year, reviewed key developments affecting the party and outlined strategies for 2026.

The women leaders said they extensively reviewed the judgment delivered on January 21, 2026, against the leadership of Julius Abure.

They unanimously resolved that the judgment contains fundamental errors and should be appealed.

The leaders reaffirmed their “total and unwavering support” for the LPleadership under Abure and Umar Farouk Ibrahim.

They also resolved to mobilise women across wards, local government areas and states.

The women leaders urged female members of the party to remain steadfast, united and hopeful despite the current challenges.

They assured the National Working Committee and National Executive Council of their continued loyalty to the party leadership.

The women leaders said they are ready to demonstrate solidarity with the LP at all times.

They called on party members to remain calm and focused, noting that the party has survived difficult moments in the past and emerged stronger.
