Even as Nigerians turned out enmass to cast their vote for the Presidential and National Assembly candidates of their choice, food vendors and cold drinks hawkers have also kept voters comfortable with their dishes and assorted drinks.
One of the food vendors named Bose who is a waiter at Mama Bore Food Kitchen located inside LEA Primary School Wuse Zone 2, Abuja reported that her sales today were unprecedented. She said that she had the intention to vote but the volume of customers waiting to be served is almost making it very difficult for her to create time to cast her vote.
“I can’t remember when I had this volume of sales. Today’s sales have been very good and we thank God” she said.
When asked if she will not close her sales for a while so as to cast her votes, she responded. “No, unless I finish all my food, I will not go to vote. Afterall, I have been voting all these while and nothing has changed in the country.
“They have been cancelling our votes in this polling unit for years now. A beg I can’t close my shop to vote for those useless politicians. They are all the same. They don’t have the interest of the people at heart”.
When reminded that her vote could make all the difference she continued, “All the ones I have voted in the past, which different did it make. They already know who they will give, so my vote will not change anything” Bose said.
