The Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, has praised the Super Eagles after their loss to Morocco in the Semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria lost to Morocco on penalties after the game ended 0-0 in regular time and extra time.

Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi missed their penalty kicks for the Super Eagles.

After the game, the Information Ministry said in a statement, “Dear Super Eagles, thank you for giving your all and representing Nigeria with pride and dignity.

“Even when you lost, you displayed courage, worked well with others, and kept going strong, and these traits are very important to the country you stand for.

“Football has its ups and downs, but your hard work, dedication, and strong attitude during this tournament have made Nigerians both at home and overseas respect and thank you.

“You reminded us that wearing the green and white is about being brave, coming together, and never giving up. Hold your heads high. Learn from this experience, stay together, and come back even stronger.

“Nigeria is still very proud of you and thankful for the happiness and hope you brought to us during the competition. Well done, Super Eagles. The country is always behind you.”
