    Published on

The President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Professor Chris Piwuna, has disclosed that the economic situation in Nigeria is hard.

Piwuna disclosed that Nigerians are finding it difficult to eat and transport themselves.

He made the remark during ASUU’s meeting with the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa on Wednesday in Abuja.

Piwuna also urged the Minister to inform the Federal Executive Council, FEC, that security agents need to do more.

He said: “Honourable Minister, when you go for the next FEC meeting, please tell your colleagues that the economic situation in the country is still hard.

“That meals are hard to come by. That transportation is still a challenge. Families are struggling to keep their bodies and souls together.

“Tell those in charge of security that we’ve noticed that they’re up and doing and we support them, and we want them to do more.”
