    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the timetable for the 2027 general elections. Here’s a breakdown of the key dates:

    – Continuous Voter Registration (CVR): April 2026 – January 2027
    – Registration of new voters
    – Replacement of lost or damaged PVCs
    – Transfer of voting locations
    – Updates for individuals turning 18 years old
    – Political Party Primaries: July 1 – September 30, 2026
    – Select candidates for all elective positions
    – Conduct congresses at ward, LGA, state, and national levels
    – Submit outcomes of primaries to INEC within one week
    – Submission of Candidate Lists: October 1-31, 2026
    – Upload names of candidates and running mates via INEC’s online nomination portal
    – Publication of Final Candidate List: November 15, 2026
    – Election Campaigns:
    – Presidential and National Assembly: November 18, 2026 – February 19, 2027
    – Governorship and State Assembly: December 15, 2026 – March 5, 2027
