AFCON 2025: Eagles arrive Morocco in native attire

    Published on

The Super Eagles of Nigeria players and coaching staff are set to arrive in Morocco on Thursday after departing Egypt ahead of the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Recall that Nigeria camped in Cairo following their AFCON preparatory friendly against Egypt on Tuesday. They have now departed Egypt for Morocco.

As is customary for teams participating in AFCON or the FIFA World Cup, national teams often enter host countries dressed in traditional attire.

As of Thursday, countries such as Comoros, Mali and Zimbabwe had already arrived in Morocco, with Benin and Senegal also following suit.

Ahead of their touchdown in Morocco, the Super Eagles donned traditional outfits for AFCON 2025.

The Nigerian players and officials were dressed in deep green native attire, featuring short-sleeved tunics with embroidery running down the chest, paired with matching trousers.

All players wore native caps made from the same material. For footwear, some opted for leather slip-ons, while others wore sneakers.

The Super Eagles will kick off their AFCON 2025 campaign with a Group C match against Tanzania on December 23.
