The Super Eagles’ preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations gathered momentum on Monday as four more players- Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka and Paul Onuachu reported to camp, bringing the total number of players in camp to 15.

The quartet joined an earlier group that includes goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali and Amas Obasogie, as well as Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, Tochukwu Nnadi and Zaidu Sanusi.

The team is camped in Cairo, where they are scheduled to face Egypt in an international friendly on Tuesday as part of final preparations for the continental tournament.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the 2025 AFCON alongside Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda, with coaching staff keen to fine-tune tactical coordination ahead of the competition.

Early arrivals have settled into camp routines, allowing the technical crew to begin structured sessions while awaiting the remaining invitees. More players are expected to join in the coming days, as the Super Eagles edge closer to full strength.

The Cairo camp underscores Nigeria’s intent to approach the tournament with full focus and readiness, as expectations remain high for the three-time African champions.
