The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the accreditation of examination centres for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

No fewer than 848 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres are slated to be covered in the accreditation exercise, which began on Monday, December 15, 2025, nationwide.

At a virtual meeting with Chief External Examiners (CEEs), Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs), zonal directors and other stakeholders, the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, urged the accreditation teams to be diligent, security-conscious and thorough in the task.

He warned against accrediting substandard centres and described the assignment as a national duty.
JAMB’s IT Consultant, Mr Damilola Bamiro, explained that only centres that successfully conducted the mandatory automated system readiness test were eligible for physical inspection.

He outlined key accreditation requirements, including CCTV coverage, functional systems, network accessibility and adequate holding halls.
Stakeholders at the meeting pledged to deliver a credible accreditation exercise that would strengthen the integrity of the 2026 UTME.
