North-Central APC hails Al-Makura’s appointment as renewed hope zonal coordinator

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has hailed the appointment of former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, as the region’s Renewed Hope Coordinator under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Tinubu recently named six zonal coordinators to drive the Renewed Hope Initiative Committees, which will work with the Initiative’s Ambassador, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, to deepen developmental programmes across the country.

The new coordinators include Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for the South-South, Isah Yuguda for the North-East, Aminu Bello Masari for the North-West, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim for the South-East, Oladipupo Oyinbande for the South-West, and Al-Makura for the North-Central.

In a statement on Tuesday, Forum Chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga described Al-Makura’s appointment as “well deserved,” citing his political experience, party loyalty, and longstanding contribution to the APC.

The Forum pledged its full support and urged governors, legislators, and other stakeholders in the region to cooperate with the ex-governor.

It added that the appointment would strengthen efforts toward delivering six million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 election.

Highlighting his pedigree, the Forum noted that Al-Makura remains one of APC’s founding pillars, recalling that he was the lone CPC governor during the merger process and has held key party responsibilities, including chairing primary election committees and reconciliation panels.

The Forum also congratulated Governor Hope Uzodinma on his appointment as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation, expressing confidence that the Renewed Hope Initiative team will strengthen the APC’s prospects ahead of 2027.
