We’re real threat to ruling APC in Ekiti – ADC candidate

    Published on

African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Ambassador Dare Bejide, says the party poses a genuine threat to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Addressing supporters at the ADC Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti upon receiving his certificate of return, Bejide expressed confidence that the ADC has the momentum to unseat the incumbent government.

He said Nigeria’s core problem is failed leadership, stressing that focused, committed governance would transform the nation’s outlook.

“To defeat an incumbent governor is tough, but with determination, the ADC will dislodge the ruling party in Ekiti in 2026,” he declared.

Bejide added that tackling insecurity must begin with job creation for young people, urging governments to expand skills centres and make agriculture more attractive to the youth.

Commenting on the earlier attack on the ADC Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, he described it as an act of desperation by political opponents threatened by the ADC’s rising influence. He said security agencies have been notified, which has restored calm around the party.

Bejide also cautioned leaders against corruption and misuse of public funds, saying these issues lie at the heart of Nigeria’s challenges.

Party chieftains present at the event included Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, Mr. Ilesanmi, Hon. Segun Akinwumi, Hon. Gboyega Aribisogun, and Hon. Akin Omole, who chaired the reception committee.
