The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Alhaji Kabiru Turaki on his election as the party’s new National Chairman, describing his rise as a testament to integrity, competence, and consistent service to the party.
The message, jointly signed by Forum Chairman and Edo State PDP leader Tony Aziegbemi along with 25 other state chairmen, praised Turaki’s emergence at the helm of the 20-member National Working Committee (NWC) as a “resounding affirmation” of his long-standing loyalty and leadership.
The forum expressed full confidence in the new chairman’s ability to reposition the PDP, saying:
“We are confident that under your distinguished leadership, the Peoples Democratic Party will continue to advance its mission of rescuing and rebuilding Nigeria.”
They also commended PDP governors for their pivotal roles in ensuring a smooth National Elective Convention in Ibadan, especially Governor Seyi Makinde, whom they praised for hosting a “seamless, well-organised, and successful” event.
Acknowledgment also went to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Adamawa State Governor Amadu Fintiri, and Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for their leadership during the convention. The forum further recognised contributions from Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and other party organs.
Reaffirming their loyalty, the forum vowed to stand firm despite political pressure and institutional challenges:
“In the face of calculated pressures, orchestrated hostilities, and callous institutional oppressions, we reaffirm our unshakeable resolve to soldier on in defence of the enduring ideals of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
Turaki and the new NWC were elected at the National Elective Convention held from November 15 to 16, 2025, in Ibadan.
