‘We’ll honour him, his family’ – Shettima on Brigadier General murdered by terrorists

    Published on

Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured that the slain Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, Gen Musa Uba, and his family will be honoured.

General Musa Uba and other military officers were recently murdered by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, terrorists in Borno State.

Speaking about the incident on Wednesday during a visit to Birnin Kebbi over the recent abduction of schoolgirls in the state, Shettima said the sacrifice made by the fallen soldiers will not be forgotten.

“We also honour the ultimate sacrifice made by some of our brave officers. To the family of the late Brigadier-General Musa Uba, we say, his sacrifice will never be forgotten,” he said.

According to him, when a soldier gives his life in defence of the country, “a part of our collective soul is touched. We will honour him, his family, and all who pay the supreme price in service to Nigeria.”

The Vice President also described the abduction of the Kebbi schoolgirls as an assault on the conscience of all Nigerians.

He noted that Nigerians have been witnessing a surge in terrorist activities across the country.
In the last few days, several people have been kidnapped, while many others have been killed by the troublemakers.
