In just 25 days, the heartbeat of Nigeria will echo to the rhythm of thousands of runners as the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon returns for its highly anticipated second edition on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The event promises to blend sport, culture, and purpose, celebrating human endurance and national pride in one remarkable spectacle.

With its World Athletics Label distinction, the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon has evolved beyond a local race. It now represents Africa’s emerging signature on the global running map.

“We are building a legacy of excellence, and Abuja is the stage,” said Yetunde Olopade, Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited (NSML), organizers of the event. “The second edition is about showing the world that Nigeria can host an event that combines precision, passion, and purpose.”

The theme for this year, “Steady Stride,” captures the discipline, determination, and focus that define marathon running. It symbolizes progress through consistency, reflecting Nigeria’s journey toward sporting excellence and a healthier, more united society. From elite marathoners chasing records to first-time runners pursuing personal milestones, every participant will embody the power of taking steady strides toward greatness.

As title sponsor, PremiumTrust Bank continues to connect corporate commitment with community impact. Its sustained support goes beyond branding; it represents belief in Nigeria’s potential to deliver global-standard sporting experiences that inspire the next generation.

Abuja is already preparing to welcome athletes from Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Europe, and Asia. The city’s infrastructure is being fine-tuned, routes are measured to precision, and volunteers are mobilized to ensure a world-class experience. For one day in December, the Federal Capital Territory will transform into a vibrant stage of colour, competition, and camaraderie.

The race route, stretching from the City Gate through the Central Business District and around the iconic Aso Drive, offers both challenge and beauty. It tells the story of a city that moves with purpose, rhythm, and resolve.
